Dr Hisham Arab

Hisham Arab graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1979, and completed his postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology in Canada, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1987. Dr Arab is now a Senior Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist and Perinatologist and Director of the Women and Fetal Health Program at the Dr Arab Medical Center, a private practice in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia specializing in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr Arab performed the first laparoscopic hysterectomy in Saudi Arabia in year 2000, and established the Saudi Laparoscopic Group and the Saudi Endometriosis Group in year 2013. He is an executive board member of the ISGE and chairman of its membership committee. He has published extensively on MIG and other topics related to women’s health including diabetes, endometriosis, genital infection and hygiene, infertility and menopause. He received the silver prize at the first International Congress of Perinatal Medicine in Tokyo, Japan in 1991, and his international presence persists today as a speaker and researcher.

Dr Arab is a Founding Member and Secretary General of the Saudi Obstetrics and Gynecological Society, Council Member of the Asian Oceanic Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chairman of the advisory board on female genital hygiene in the Middle East and Central Asia region, and Visiting Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY, USA.
