Call for Papers
We are pleased to announce opening of the call for proposals for the 17th International
Conference of Women Engineers & Scientists.
The International Track Themes are as follows:
1) Science and technology covering broadly the technological innovations and research
which are being carried out globally and the outlook as anticipated in next 10 years’ time
frame such as the planning, design and construction of smart cities to cover how advanced
technology and innovations enhance the quality of life, safety, ease of transport and
communications and cyber security for inhabitants.
2) New ideas and solutions to contemporary problems related to the challenges of climate
change, water and resource management, renewable energy, clean fuels, waste
management, sustainable practices and social technology which help to achieve Sustainable
Inclusive Growth.
3) Make in India initiative by the Indian Government that will take up issues of concern for
various corporations from across the world which are planning to enter the Indian market
and set up production facilities for their products.
4) Attracting, promoting and retaining women engineers and scientists will highlight
outstanding HR practices, initiatives and programs to attract, develop, promote and retain
women to Science and Engineering professions including work-life balance, gender sensitive
policies, education and management of cultural differences, leadership development and
entrepreneurship.
The above topics are only indicative and the prospective contributors can also address other
issues from their country or region, relevant for designing a vision for change that be 2025 can provide for a better future world wide. The conference intends to provide n opportunity to discuss innovative technologies in the 21st century across the engineering, science and technological professions and network with colleagues from business, academia and government.
A concerted effort is being undertaken to obtain sponsorships and funding to provide travel
grants for selected speakers. Please indicate in your submission whether a travel grant will
be required to cover your travel expenses and the approximate US $ amount.
All submissions must be in English and must clearly specify following:
• Title of Presentation
• Intended Audience
• Session Theme/Track
• Learning Objectives
• Abstract (500 words or less)
• Presenting Author: name, title, employer, address, and e-mail
• Short biography (50 words or less) including a very brief description of responsibilities and educational background. Note: If there are more than one speaker/author, information for each must be provided.
• Travel Grant information: economy airfare, local travel, hotel accommodation, visa application and/or registration

• Lecture Presentations (45 minutes + 10 minutes Q&A)
• Workshops (1 or 2 hours)
• Panel Discussions (1 hour)
• Lightning Talks (15 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A)
• Posters

All submissions will be reviewed by the ICWES17 Committee and authors will be notified by
May 30, 2017 as to whether their abstract has been selected or not.
